How to Tell Your Husband That You Are Pregnant

Pregnant? Better tell your husband. Here are some tips to break it to your man that you are going to have kids.

• Be sure that you are actually pregnant. You don't want to get hopes up and then find out you aren't really pregnant.
• Realize you must tell your husband you are pregnant. You don't want to hide something this important, and it's better to tell now than to wait for all the physical signs to start.
• Take him out for dinner in a quiet, private place. You want this to be a special occasion. Candlelight can set the mood.
• Talk naturally (or as naturally as possible). However, don't try to conceal your excitement by acting down, and do try to cover up the fact you are unhappy if you are. You don't want him to think anything is wrong!
• Make sure he is listening to you.
• Use positive language when you tell him. Say "We are going to have a baby!" not "I'm pregnant". This tells him know you are happy, if there was any doubt.
• Show him you love him and you are happy to have his child. Include him in this. After all, he played (and will play) an important role in this baby's life!
• If you want, try thinking of a fun, clever way to tell him. You can get a lot of fun out of planning how to tell him. For example you could wear a T-shirt or an apron with the note "We're gonna have a Baby" during the romantic dinner. You could buy a gift box and put the note with the wonderful news inside, or you could have your pet wear the note. Possibilities are endless, just make a little effort and you'll have one of the most beautiful moments in your life. It's okay to be nervous. He probably will be too.
