Easy Ways to Build Trust in Your Relationship

Whether you believe it or not, there are some concrete ways to build trust in a relationship. They may not be the first things that come to your mind, but they are exactly what you need.

Some people say that spicing things up is essential; others believe that predictability can do better than variety in any relationship. Let's see some methods you can use to improve your connection to your partner as well as the level of trust.

First of all, as I've just mentioned, you must be predictable. Your romance does not need stirring up to be kept alive. This does not mean you shouldn't go out to a fancy restaurant once in a while; also, even if there is no special occasion, nobody says you cannot offer a surprise gift. However, try keeping things steady and consistent if you want your relationship to work. It is reliability that builds most trust in any relationship.

Secondly, make sure that your body language matches the words you say; otherwise you will send out the wrong message. It's the body language that your partner will register, not the words, though the tone of your voice is also important. If you can do that, he or she will learn to trust your words as well.

The third thing that also matters is the belief in your partner's competency. If that is not present in your mind, you will not have the necessary amount of trust in your relationship. Any truth can be constructive if it is communicated in a loving manner. You must trust his or her ability to understand certain things, if not everything, providing you want to go further to another level.

Secrets can be destructive, so you had better be honest and open; any secret will eventually come out and ruin everything you have built together. It's no use mentioning that keeping secrets requires a lot of energy, which could be used to build your relationship instead.

The fifth piece of advice from me sounds like this: Never make him or her guess what you want. Let your partner know of your needs and help him or her fulfill them. Being reluctant to assert your needs may take you to the opposite direction and smother your partner.

You must also learn when to say 'no'. This means you need to educate your sweetheart a little instead of spoiling him or her. In this way you will get much more respect than by letting yourself subjugated to his or her will. Do answer your partner's desires but not on a regular basis.

Finally, what you need to pursue is the growth of your relationship. It will not be easy; you must deal with moments of crisis and pain, but if you keep trying to make things work, no matter which way the wind blows, you can reach the level you desire. Little steps into perfection will eventually bring about the desired results. As for pain, don't forget it makes you stronger!
